Ownership Analysis
The G1 is the original production Vision Jet, delivered from late 2016 through 2018 as the first certified single-engine personal jet. It pairs a single Williams FJ33-5A turbofan mounted atop the fuselage with Garmin Perspective Touch avionics and the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), and it opened the jet category to owner-pilots stepping up from high-performance pistons and single-engine turboprops.
Later G2 and G2+ aircraft raised the certified ceiling, payload, and range, so the G1 trades at a meaningful discount to its successors. Buyers should confirm the aircraft’s engine program status, software and avionics update history, and CAPS repack schedule, since the parachute system carries a recurring maintenance cost unique to Cirrus airframes.
Lenders generally view the Vision Jet family favorably given Cirrus’s strong resale track record, but the G1’s position as the oldest and least capable variant means underwriting leans more on engine program enrollment and logbook completeness than it would on a late-model G2+. Financing falls under the Turboprop & Jet tier.
