Avionics

Garmin G1000 NXi

Ownership Analysis

The 182T is the current-production Skylane, powered by the Lycoming IO-540 and equipped with Garmin G1000 (later G1000 NXi) integrated avionics as standard since the mid-2000s, making it the most modern and capable Skylane variant available new.

As with the 172S, continuous production keeps parts and factory support strong and removes most avionics-modernization uncertainty for later examples. Earlier 182Ts built before roughly 2005 still carry analog panels and should be evaluated similarly to other pre-glass-era aircraft on that point.

Current production and strong resale demand support favorable underwriting; lenders have good comparable-sales visibility given the type’s continued factory presence and active used market.
