Ownership Analysis
The G58 is the current-production Baron, introduced in 2005 with Continental IO-550-C engines (300 hp each), a longer cabin than the 55-series with club seating and aft doors, and Garmin G1000 integrated avionics (later G1000 NXi). It remains one of the few piston twins still built new.
Current production keeps factory support strong and avionics current, but twin-engine ownership still means doubled engine and propeller reserves. Engine times and program status are the main variables on used examples.
Current-production status and Beechcraft’s reputation give lenders good collateral confidence. The G58 sits at the top of the piston-twin price range, and loan terms fall under the Certified Piston tier, with insurance and pilot multi-engine experience factoring into the total picture.
